Warning: My Experience with Fahad Syed from Finnerti Ltd (formerly Maritime Financial Services)/Fine & Country
I feel compelled to share a personal experience to ensure that others are aware of a situation that I’ve unfortunately had to endure. In March 2018, I trusted Fahad Syed (Date of Birth: 04 June 1984), a family friend, with a significant sum of money, GBP 34,000, with the understanding that he would help invest it in property development in Croydon, promising a return of 20 to 50% profit within six months. I gave this money to Fahad as a friend and not as a client who invested with him. He reassured many times I’ll always get the money back no matter what happens. Fahad is now accusing me of lying and editing images then I challenge him to take this issue to police to prove that I’m lying.
Regrettably, my trust in Fahad Syed turned out to be misplaced. Despite our past history and his assurances, he failed to deliver on his promises. Over the course of the next six months, he provided numerous excuses for not returning my money, ranging from personal issues like his divorce and his father’s health to external factors like the COVID-19 pandemic.
These continuous delays placed me in a challenging financial position, especially considering my personal circumstances, including two pregnancies and a period of unemployment. Despite my earnest pleas and attempts to communicate, Fahad Syed stopped responding to my messages entirely over a year ago.
I want to share my story with you all as a warning and a plea for awareness. Fahad Syed has not only failed to fulfill his financial obligations but has also seemingly moved on to other ventures. Fahad returned altogether 3000 gbp in installments of 500 gbp or 1000 here and there over many months.

It is disheartening to think that he might be taking advantage of others in the same way he did with me. While I am not a resident of the UK and pursuing legal action might prove challenging, I believe that shedding light on this matter can prevent others from falling victim to similar situations. It is my hope that no one else has to experience the financial and emotional distress that I’ve gone through.
